Equipment

  • sauce pan
  • Stove Top
  • Whisk
  • Large Bowl
  • glass jar for storage
  • lid for glass jar
  • wooden spoon to stir
  • cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups of Boiling Hot Water
  • 6-8 Slices of Bacon Chopped and Cooked
  • 2 Brown Eggs Technically you don't need to use brown eggs but I like the taste better! Feel free to eliminate eggs altogether for this recipe if you have an allergy or prefer another taste.
  • 1 tsp of sea salt
  • 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrups optional
  • For those of us with a sweet tooth adding maple syrup can satisfy it! Bacon and maple complement each other very well, especially on deliciously fresh salads.

Instructions

  • The first step during this creamy hot bacon dressing recipe is to prepare and cook the bacon. It is best to crumble and cut the bacon first before cooking it. This can save you time! Trying to cut hot bacon is hard and leaves you with burns on your hands and fingertips.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy. The lard or bacon grease that is leftover is great for other recipes and purposes. Put it to the side to enjoy for the dressing!
  • Step 2 is the easiest step, however, you do need to watch the heat of your sauce pan. In the same sauce pan with the broken pieces of bacon, whisk in the rest of the ingredients, not including the vinegar. I suggest pouring the ingredients slowly and whisking them in one at a time.
  • If not, this can cause a mess. It is also important to choose a pot that is large enough to fit all of the ingredients without falling out. You should be left with a delicious smelling and thick dressing by the end of this step.
  • You can't forget about step 3! Once the dressing is thick and thoroughly mixed together, remove the sauce pan from the heat. Turn off your stove top and mix with the stirring spoon the vinegar. As the mixture begins to cool down, it will thicken. You will start to notice the bacon grease.

Notes

  • There are a lot of tips and tricks you can follow while reading through this creamy hot bacon dressing recipe. For example, when you are working on this recipe, you should focus on finding materials and kitchen tools that work best. Hot grease is painful and the temperature can rise and burn plastics!
  • Instead of using plastic whisks and stirring spoons, why not trade them in for wood or metallic kitchen tools? Not only do these materials last longer because of their durability, but they are great for cleaning!
