Ingredients
  

  • 6 Cups of All Purpose Flour I recommend setting aside more if you are interested in rolling out the donut dough on a counter. The flour helps so that the dough does not stick.
  • 2 tablespoons of baking powder
  • 4 brown eggs
  • 1.5 Cups of Whole Milk set aside 1/4th milk for the frosting if desired
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/5 Cups of Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup of Butter- Melted not room temperature
  • 1/2 Cup of Vanilla yogurt
  • 3.5 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • The first step in this Round Rock donut recipe is to mix the dry ingredients well in a large bowl. Don't add the liquids yet!
  • Once the dry ingredients are completely mixed, then, you can start to crack and whisk or beat the eggs into the dry ingredients. The dough will start to form, but it will be dry. Make sure that the yolks are broken and molded into the dough before moving on to step three.
  • During the third step for this Round Rock donut recipe, place the rest of the ingredients into the same bowl. Beat the ingredients slowly. This step does not need to use the confectioner sugar though. Leave this till the end if you are interested in making frosting or a glaze.
  • After step 3, you should have a dough that is easier to mold and roll. On a clean surface, generously sprinkle flour so that the dough does not get caught while you roll it out.
  • While rolling the dough, give the shape. During this step, don't forget to pre-heat the oven to 365 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once the oven is pre-heated, add the donut shaped dough on a large baking sheet or pan. Bake for about ten minutes or until the donut has risen and is golden.

Notes

  • Since this recipe is straightforward, there are not a lot of tips or tricks I can give you to improve the Round Rock donut recipe. I do recommend though making one small change. Instead of refrigerating the dough for two hours in plastic wrap, do this overnight if possible. To keep the dough hydrated, cover well in plastic.
